Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 10, 2026
This policy explains what information UnluckyTech (“we”, “us”) collects when you use unluckytech.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Privacy policies for our mobile apps are listed in the Mobile Apps section below — each app has its own policy describing exactly what that app does.
Information You Give Us
Accounts
If you register an account we store your username, email address, display name, and a hashed password. We send a verification code to your email to confirm it’s yours. You can update or remove profile details from your account page at any time.
Comments & Votes
Commenting requires an account. When you comment we store the comment text, the time, and your account identity. Comment up/down votes are stored against your account so each user can vote once per comment. Comments you post are visible to other visitors.
Support Tickets & Contact Form
When you contact us or open a support ticket we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, the service and inquiry type you select, and your message. We use this only to respond to and track your request. Ticket history is kept so we can reference past support conversations.
Quotes & Invoices
If you become a client, billing records (name, email, billing address, quotes, and invoices) are managed in our self-hosted invoicing system at invoice.unluckytech.com. Payment card details are processed by the payment provider shown at checkout — we never see or store full card numbers.
Information Collected Automatically
Security & Logs
To protect against break-in attempts we temporarily track failed login counts per account and a hashed form of the requesting IP address. These records expire automatically. Our hosting infrastructure keeps standard web-server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
We use cookies for what cookies are for: keeping you logged in, remembering interface preferences, and security checks. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites.
Third-Party Services
Some functionality relies on outside services that receive your IP address (and in some cases set their own cookies) when a page loads or a form is submitted:
- Cloudflare — our site is delivered through Cloudflare, and forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile (CAPTCHA). Cloudflare privacy policy
- cdnjs (Cloudflare) — icon assets are loaded from the cdnjs CDN.
- Gravatar — profile pictures are served by Gravatar; a hash of your email is sent to Gravatar to look up your avatar. Automattic privacy policy
We do not sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone except as described above or when required by law.
We send transactional email only — account verification, password or account-change notices, support ticket replies, and billing documents. We do not send marketing email.
Retention & Your Rights
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Tickets and invoices are kept as business records. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing the address below — we’ll respond within 30 days. Note that we may need to retain invoicing records where the law requires it.
Children
This site and our services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Mobile Apps
Each of our Android apps has its own privacy policy describing exactly what that app collects:
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes to how we handle account data will be announced to registered users by email.
